This textile motorcycle jacket from Weise shares many of the same features as the Weise Summit jacket but in a much sportier styling, appealing to the sports and street bike riders looking for a textile motorcycle jacket with touring jacket specification.

The 600D polyester outer construction of the jacket makes for a heavy-duty outer construction, ready to withstand serious abrasion in the event of an accident. Additionally, Super-Fabric material can be found at the shoulders as a slide resistant overlay, offering increased resistance at an area that typically receives intense abrasion in an accident scenario. Backing up the abrasion resistant outer construction of the Vertex jacket is a five-piece armour set within the jacket; found at the back, elbows and shoulders as standard, this strategically placed motorcycle armour is flexible, unobtrusive and fitted to dedicated pockets to ensure that armour is in the right place when you need it most, effectively dispelling impact energy away from these areas. Offering additional passive protection, the Weise Vertex Jacket features 3M reflective detailing elements too, maximising your visibility when riding, even in weather conditions when visibility is greatly reduced.

Within the jacket, a 3D Air Mesh lining allows air to circulate effectively within the jacket, keeping you cool as your ride and stopping the textile material from sticking to your skin in warmer temperatures. New for the Weise Textile Jackets is the Fidlock Ventilation Technology; this brilliant locking mechanism allows large vented areas at the chest of the jacket to be opened and held open with ease. The Fidlock technology utilises a small lug into a c-shaped cup fixing, magnetically finding the centre and securely locking in place. Locked in this c-shaped fixing, the vent is highly unlikely to become dislodged and begin flapping around, making it a much more durable fastening system than that of a standard magnet or push button fastening and much easier to locate than a hook system. These large chest vents can be closed with a secure waterproof zipper closure, minimising water entry into the jacket when riding in heavy rain.

Additional ventilation points include a long length zipper at the lower arm, which is controlled by a two-way zipper which runs down the cuff. This ventilation point channels huge amounts of cool air directly into the jacket, maximising the cooling effect when riding at speed. The zipper can be closed at the cuff, allowing you close the jacket around your gloves and retain the open zipper feature. Turn to the rear of the jacket and you’ll find a rear extraction vent, allowing warm air to escape from within the jacket, keeping you cool as you ride.

Beneath the outer construction of this textile motorcycle jacket lies a waterproof and windproof lining, helping minimise windchill when riding in cooler weather as well as minimising water entering into the jacket should you find yourself caught out in the worst of the weather. This lining is also breathable, allowing water vapour to escape from within the jacket, leaving you feeling fresh when you reach your destination. You’ll also find a 120-gram quilted thermal liner, offering an additional layer of insulation to the jacket and maximising its usage, letting you ride further into the cooler months of the year with ease. Both these inner linings are removable, leaving you with a lightweight ventilated summer motorcycle jacket. The linings can be rolled up into a compact size and easily stored in a rucksack or pannier and attached with ease should the situation arise.

A YKK central zipper provides a hard wearing, robust closure system for this textile motorcycle jacket that won’t wear out or deteriorate with continued usage. A large zipper found within the jacket allows you to zip the Weise Vertex Jacket into any compatible pair of Weise trousers. This not only minimises wind entering in through the rear of the jacket when you’re trying to keep warm but also minimises the risk of the small of your back becoming exposed in the event of a slide across the tarmac. At the neck of the Vertex jacket, you’ll find a neoprene comfort collar which provide comfort on longer distance rides as well as local commutes. The collar sits higher up than a standard textile jacket, maximising wind protection, and is adjustable, allowing you to tailor the fit to suit you. A loop and hook system offers additional versatility, letting the rider hook the collar out of the way when riding in the summer and allowing more airflow into the jacket from the collar.

Ensuring a great fit in the Vertex jacket comes in the form of a series of adjustment points located at the waist and sleeves. These adjustment belts allow the rider to tighten the jacket to suit their body shape as well as take up any excess material left when the linings have been removed to guarantee a great fit. You’ll also find accordion stretch panelling at the shoulders and elbows as well as four-way stretch material under the arms for an unrestricted range of movement, both on the bike and off it.
