The WR-V gloves are created in a hybrid textile and leather construction, offering you the best of both worlds when riding this winter. The textile material remains supple and flexible, offering even greater comfort on those chilly, winter morning commutes or long-distance riding in cooler climates. This textile material is backed up with hardwearing leather palm material, offering a familiar feel at the handlebars for many bikers, along with improved grip and greater abrasion resistance in the event of a slide across tarmac.

The leather material used in the WR-V Gore Tex gloves is utilised further at the lower palm areas, the side of the hand and the creation of the fourth finger bridge. These dual layer leather areas are dual stitched for increased seam strength to minimise the risk of a blowout when subject to intense abrasion.

The addition of a fourth finger bridge is a feature usually reserved for sports bike gloves, ensuring that a slide at the side of the hand doesn’t result in damage to the little finger due to unnatural movement if it grips the road surface. This fourth finger bridge is inherited from Alpinestars racing pedigree and improves the protective possibilities of the Alpinestars WR-1 Gore Tex gloves.

For impact protection, the Alpinestars WR-V utilise a soft EVA foam padding at the knuckle area, designed to effectively dissipate impact energy at this area should an impact occur. This padding is ergonomically shaped and features a ridge between the two sections for greater movement. This padding is mirrored in other locations around the glove, with soft density padding also being found at the fingers, cuff and palm areas to offer even greater impact protection.

So why settle for anything less than Gore-Tex waterproof technology to keep your hands dry when riding. Thanks to the use of official Gore-Tex in the Alpinestars WRV Gloves, damp hands are not something you’ll be concerned about, regardless of how many miles of wet weather riding you do. The Gore-Tex membrane within the gloves consists of over 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimetre; to put that into perspective, these pores are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet but 700 times larger than water vapour molecules. This means that you can ride through the worst weather that mother nature decides to throw your way without the risk of the water soaking through to your hands, yet still letting perspiration escape from within these Alpinestars winter gloves to maximise the fresh feeling when you arrive at your destination.

No winter glove would be complete without a thermal membrane. Again, Alpinestars have opted for the very best in the WR-V gloves and have chosen Primaloft for the insulation duties. Primaloft have earned a sterling reputation as one of the best insulation layers for ski clothing in recent years, making them ideal for the use in a pair of thermal winter motorcycle gloves. The Primaloft lining which lies at the back of the hand to minimise the effect of windchill while a comparatively thinner lining lies at the palm of the hand for increased feel at the bars, comfort while riding and heat retention.

These waterproof motorcycle gloves also feature a pre-curved finger construction, limiting the fatigue that can be felt when riding over longer distances while fighting the material makeup of the glove. This comfort is aided by the accordion stretch detailing found at the back of the index and middle, giving you maximum control over the clutch and brake levers of your motorcycle.

You’ll also find reflective detail areas at the fingers, designed to improve your visibility when riding in low light conditions. For greater convenience when out on the road, a touch sensitive material at the tips of the index fingers and thumbs makes using your GPS navigation device possible, without the need to remove the gloves.

A Velcro cuff and wrist closure offers a simple yet reliable fastening point, ensuring that the glove and all the protective elements that are incorporated into the glove remain in the right place when they are needed most.
