Despite the lightweight textile outer construction, the Ketchum jacket still withstands an incredible amount of abrasion and has been certified to AA standard when subjected to CE testing. This gives you peace of mind that should the worst occur, you skin will be safe from the road surface. This hardwearing outer construction is backed by Alpinestars Nucleon Flex armour at the shoulder and elbows, which is flexible, comfortable and low profile for an unintrusive fit and feel.

The Gore-Tex membrane within the jacket consists of over 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimetre; to put that into perspective, these pores are 20,000 times small than a water droplet but 700 times larger than water vapour molecules. This means that you can ride through the worst weather that mother nature decides to throw your way without the risk of the water soaking through to your base layers, yet still letting perspiration escape from within the jacket to maximise the fresh feeling when you arrive at your destination.

The inclusion of a thermal lining within the Alpinestars Ketchum Gore-Tex Jacket offers an additional layer of insulation when travelling in cooler climates. This thermal lining can be easily removed from within the jacket when travelling in the summer months and stored in your luggage for easy reattachment when required.

With thermal lining removed from the Alpinestars Ketchum jacket, riders can make full use of the ventilation opportunities found at the front and rear of the jacket. Two zipped ventilation areas are long in their length and feature a retention strap with a press stud fastening to hold open the vent when riding. This helps to hold the vent open to capture and channel as much cool air into the jacket as possible, a welcomed feature for summer riders. You’ll also find two zipped exhaust vents at the rear of the jacket, which allow warm air from within the jacket to escape for a complete cooling experience.

Multiple adjustment opportunities around the jacket help the rider tailor their new Alpinestars Ketchum Goretex Jacket to suit their body shape. A press stud bicep adjustment strap and endless strap forearm adjustment help to tailor the fit of the arms, while an endless strap at the waist lets the rider cinch the waist of the jacket to their body for a more figure flattering fit that helps to eliminate the billowing that can occur when travelling at higher speeds. These adjustment points can also be used to help accommodate any additional layers that you may be wearing underneath the jacket when riding in cooler weather.

A magnetic zipper alignment at the bottom of the zipper helps to fasten this Alpinestars textile jacket, automatically aligning the zipper in the right place and making zipping up your new jacket much easier, especially with bulkier winter gloves.
